CVE-2022-40799Known exploitationPublic exploitNetwork attack vector

Authenticated command execution via unchecked configuration restore

Published Nov 29, 2022 · Updated Oct 21, 2025

Code integrity failure in D-Link DNR-322L firmware 2.60B15 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to execute OS commands. The Backup Config restore path accepts a modified archive without verifying its integrity, allowing its embedded rc.init.sh startup script to be replaced and run when the recorder boots. Valid device credentials and a reboot are required; successful exploitation grants command execution on the network video recorder.
