Application crash via crafted MP4 sample table
Published Sep 18, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
NULL pointer dereference in Bento4 through 1.6.0-639 allows local users to crash mp42ts by processing a crafted MP4 file. AP4_StszAtom::GetSampleSize reads through a null address while mp42ts traverses sample-size metadata from the malformed file. The crash requires a user to run mp42ts on the crafted input and affects availability only, with no reported data disclosure or modification.
