Authenticated credential disclosure via Admin Console script injection
Published Nov 11, 2022 · Updated May 1, 2025
Cross-site scripting in the Admin Console of IBM WebSphere Application Server 8.5 and 9.0 allows remote authenticated users to run JavaScript. IBM identifies the Application Migration Report function as the affected locus, but the confidential APAR does not disclose which input is inserted without adequate neutralization. Execution requires a user to interact with the injected content in a trusted session, where script can alter console behavior and expose credentials.
