Administrator command execution via unfiltered authentication field
Published Jan 3, 2023 · Updated Apr 10, 2025
Command injection in Realtek GPON router SDK 1.9 allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary system commands through its web interface. The authentication field accepts the && separator, concatenates attacker-controlled commands, and neither validates field format nor filters illegal characters. Administrator access is required; exploitation permits credential-file destruction, arbitrary device manipulation, and service interruption.
