Root code execution via websocket_data_handler stack overflow
Published Jan 26, 2023 · Updated Apr 1, 2025
Stack-based buffer overflow in D-Link DIR-2150 4.0.1 allows network-adjacent attackers to execute arbitrary code without authentication. The anweb websocket_data_handler copies user-supplied data into a fixed-length stack buffer without first validating its length. The service listens on TCP ports 80 and 443 by default, and successful exploitation executes code as root.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
