CVE-2022-40711Network attack vector

Privileged-browser script execution via stored End Entity payload

Published Jan 1, 2023 · Updated Apr 11, 2025

Stored XSS in the End Entity section of PrimeKey EJBCA 7.9.0.2 Community allows remote authenticated users to execute script in a victim's browser. The section stores an RA Administrator's crafted payload and later renders it without neutralization when a higher-privilege user views the affected content. Exploitation requires RA Administrator access and interaction by a higher-privilege user; the script executes in that user's EJBCA web context.
