Code execution via X_B parser under-read
Published Sep 15, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Out-of-bounds read in the X_B parser in Ansys SpaceClaim 2022 R1 allows context-dependent attackers to execute code via a crafted file. The parser fails to validate user-supplied X_B data before reading before the start of an allocated data structure. Opening a malicious X_B file or visiting a page that supplies one runs attacker-controlled code in the current SpaceClaim process.
