Remote code execution via logo upload filename confusion
Published Dec 19, 2022 · Updated Apr 17, 2025
Unrestricted file upload in Ultimate Member Group Ltd JobBoardWP before 1.2.2 allows remote attackers to upload executable PHP files. The unauthenticated jb-upload-company-logo AJAX action accepts a PNG-named multipart body while taking the stored filename from the attacker-controlled jb-logo-upload cookie, permitting a .php destination. A nonce exposed on the public Jobs page is sufficient; requesting the returned upload URL executes the file in the WordPress server context.
