Memory corruption via 3GP metadata double free
Published Mar 7, 2023 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Double free in Qualcomm Video allows remote attackers to corrupt memory by causing an affected device to play a crafted 3GP clip. The closed-source Video parser releases the same allocation twice while processing invalid metadata atoms in the clip. No privileges or user interaction are required according to Qualcomm's vector, and the corruption affects confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
