Authenticated code execution via Active Response path traversal
Published Sep 27, 2022 · Updated May 21, 2025
Code injection in affected Wazuh releases allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary programs through Active Response. The endpoint accepts parent-directory segments in a custom command and resolves an executable path outside the permitted active-response directory. A manager administrator with the active-response:command RBAC permission can run the selected program on the manager or a connected agent.
