CVE-2022-40490Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Stored XSS via crafted directory filenames

Published Feb 6, 2025 · Updated Aug 20, 2025

Stored cross-site scripting in Tiny File Manager 2.4.7 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to run JavaScript in another user's browser. A crafted uploaded or existing filename is rendered in a directory listing without neutralizing embedded markup, so the browser executes it. The attacker must be able to create or rename a server-side file, and another user must browse its directory; the result is access to browser-session data and actions available to that user.
