Unauthenticated RCE via unchecked AJAX file upload
Published Dec 26, 2022 · Updated Apr 14, 2025
Unrestricted file upload in WP Swings Return Refund and Exchange For WooCommerce before 4.0.9 allows remote attackers to execute code. The wps_rma_order_return_attach_files function accepts PHP attachments through the unauthenticated wps_rma_return_upload_files AJAX action without validating their file type. A nonce exposed on the WooCommerce cart page is sufficient to store a PHP payload under the web root and invoke it remotely.
