CVE-2022-4045Network attack vector

Authenticated server crash via unbounded API fetch

Published Nov 23, 2022 · Updated Dec 6, 2024

Resource exhaustion in Mattermost before 7.3.* allows remote authenticated users to crash the server through repeated API requests. An unnamed API endpoint accepts a request parameter that triggers a large data fetch without effective resource limits. A valid user account and multiple crafted requests are required; the bounded consequence is a server crash.
