CVE-2022-40363Public exploit

Device crash via unchecked NFC page count

Published Sep 29, 2022 · Updated May 21, 2025

Out-of-bounds write in Flipper Devices Flipper Zero firmware before 0.65.2 allows attackers to crash devices via a crafted NFC file. nfc_device_load_mifare_ul_data trusts the file's page count and writes more than the 2,040-byte MIFARE Ultralight buffer can hold. Exploitation requires a user to load the file; observed results include BusFault and null-pointer crashes, with some devices requiring firmware reflashing to recover.
