Authenticated account compromise via stored profile-field scripts
Published Oct 31, 2022 · Updated May 6, 2025
Stored XSS in PHP Point Of Sale 19.0 messaging allows remote authenticated users to compromise a targeted account via profile data. The messaging view renders attacker-controlled user profile fields without neutralizing active browser content, so stored script executes in another user's session. A low-privileged account must save the payload and a targeted user must view the affected message; execution enables account compromise or privilege escalation.
