Denial of service via unchecked pcap_dispatch result
Published Sep 8, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Samsung TizenRT through 3.0_GBM and 3.1_PRE allows remote attackers to cause denial of service via malformed packet-capture handling. The l2_packet_receive_timeout function in wpa_supplicant/src/l2_packet/l2_packet_pcap.c fails to check pcap_dispatch's return value, so an error can drive malfunction. The record describes a network-reachable condition and service disruption, without evidence of data disclosure or modification.
