Unauthenticated user deletion via unchecked init handler
Published Dec 19, 2022 · Updated Apr 17, 2025
Missing authorization in Pie Register before 3.8.1.3 allows remote attackers to delete arbitrary WordPress users and their posts. The plugin's init action handler accepts vdeleteit and attacker-supplied vusers[] identifiers, then deletes users without authorization or CSRF checks. An unauthenticated POST to admin-ajax.php is sufficient, and successful exploitation removes selected accounts together with their authored posts.
