CVE-2022-40234Network attack vector

Private-key disclosure via certificate export

Published Sep 19, 2022 · Updated Sep 16, 2024

Sensitive-data exposure in IBM Spectrum Protect Plus 10.1.0 through 10.1.11 allows attackers to read an uploaded certificate's private key. The TLS certificate upload workflow places private-key material inside the generated .crt file instead of limiting the output to public certificate data. Exploitation requires a superuser to upload the certificate and the generated file to be shared; disclosure is limited to that certificate's private key.
