CVE-2022-4019Network attack vector

Authenticated server crash via unbounded API payloads

Published Nov 23, 2022 · Updated Dec 6, 2024

Denial of service in Mattermost Playbooks 1.0.0 through 7.1.3, 7.2.0, and 7.3.0 allows remote authenticated users to crash the server. The affected Playbooks API endpoint processes repeated oversized request bodies without resource limits, exhausting server resources until the process crashes. A valid Mattermost account and repeated network requests are required, and the documented impact is a server crash without data disclosure or modification.
