Root command execution via unvalidated restore filenames
Published Oct 11, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
OS command injection in Siemens Desigo PXM and PXG devices allows remote authenticated users to execute root commands during package restore. The restore handler passes unvalidated filenames from an imported package into an operating-system command that runs with root privileges. A low-privileged account and user interaction to restore a crafted package are required, after which the device is fully compromised.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
