Custom role manipulation via missing CSRF checks
Published Dec 12, 2022 · Updated Apr 22, 2025
CSRF in Booster before 5.6.7, Booster Plus before 5.6.6, and Booster Elite before 1.1.8 allows remote attackers to alter custom roles. The Custom Roles admin endpoint accepts wcj_delete_role GET requests and role ID, name, and capability values from POST requests without verifying a CSRF nonce. A logged-in administrator must open the crafted URL or attacker-controlled page; successful requests can create a role with Administrator capabilities or delete another plugin's custom role.
