HTTP service crash via unchecked hostname copy
Published Sep 6, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Buffer overflow in TOTOLINK A3002R firmware 1.1.1-B20200824.0128 allows remote attackers to crash the embedded HTTP service. The /bin/boa sub_416F38 handler copies the fromstaticDHCP hostname parameter directly into local variable V28 with strcpy, without filtering or bounds checking. A crafted POST to /boafrm/formStaticDHCP triggers the overflow, after which the published test found the HTTP interface remained inaccessible.
