CVE-2022-4006Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Brute-force protection bypass via spoofed client IP

Published Nov 15, 2022 · Updated Apr 15, 2025

Authentication-control bypass in WBCE CMS 1.6.4 allows remote attackers to make unlimited password guesses via crafted HTTP headers. get_client_ip() trusted X-Forwarded-For ahead of REMOTE_ADDR, so rotating the spoofed header assigned failed logins to new counters. The default login endpoint accepts the header without a trusted proxy; a successful guess grants only the compromised account's privileges.
