Authenticated cross-domain data access via unchecked identifiers
Published Nov 2, 2022 · Updated Oct 22, 2024
Improper access control in Fortinet FortiMail allows remote authenticated users to read and modify other domains' information. The cross-domain object lookup accepts a request-supplied identifier without verifying that the referenced domain falls within the logged-in administrator's assigned domain. A domain-scoped administrator account is required on FortiMail 7.2.0, 7.0.0 through 7.0.3, or any 6.4, 6.2, or 6.0 release; no availability impact is reported.
