Integer overflow in Samsung Mobile Devices before SMR Dec-2022 Release 1 allows local users to write beyond a heap buffer. The video-thumbnail decoding path in libsadapter on Android 10 and 11 and libsthmbcadapter on Android 12 and 13 inadequately validates input, allowing an integer overflow to produce an out-of-bounds write. Reaching the affected decoding path on a vulnerable device is required; Samsung reports confidentiality and integrity impact but does not claim code execution.
