Unauthorized EDM configuration via missing permission
Published Nov 9, 2022 · Updated May 1, 2025
Improper access control in MiscPolicy on Samsung Mobile Devices with Android 10 through 12 allows local users to alter an EDM setting. The clearAllGlobalProxy operation accepts an unauthorized local caller because the service omits the permission required to protect enterprise device-management configuration. A malicious application running locally can clear the global proxy configuration, changing device-managed network behavior without authorization.
