Authenticated XSS via unescaped search query
Published Nov 14, 2022 · Updated Apr 15, 2025
Cross-site scripting in Frappe Framework 14.14.3 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to alter page content via crafted q. The navbar_search.html template places q directly in the search input value without HTML escaping, so a crafted parameter is reflected as script in the rendered page. Desk authentication and user interaction with the crafted link are required; the documented impact is integrity-only page manipulation without availability loss.
