CVE-2022-39877

Device identification via unchecked data broadcast

Published Oct 7, 2022 · Updated May 20, 2025

Improper access control in Samsung Group Sharing before 13.0.6.15 on Android 12 allows local users to identify an affected device. On Android 11 and earlier, builds before 13.0.6.14 are also affected; ProfileSharingAccount broadcasts device-identifying data without an access-control check. Unauthenticated local access requires no user interaction, and the reported consequence is limited to disclosure of the device's identity.
