Published Dec 19, 2022 · Updated Apr 17, 2025
Stored cross-site scripting in Responsive Lightbox2 before 1.0.4 allows remote authenticated users to execute script via a crafted shortcode. The lightbox2 shortcode outputs its crafted url attribute into page markup without validating or escaping the attribute value. Contributor access is sufficient to store the payload in a post, while execution requires another user to view or preview the post and move a pointer over the generated link.
