Sensitive information disclosure via implicit intent hijacking

Published Oct 7, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024

Improper access control in Samsung Electronics SmartThings before 1.7.89.25 allows attackers to read sensitive data via an implicit intent. WifiSetupLaunchHelper exposes that data through an implicit intent without restricting which application can receive it. A local malicious application and user interaction are required, and the reported consequence is limited to information disclosure.
