Unauthorized video recording via unprotected broadcast receiver
Published Oct 7, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Missing authorization in FactoryCamera before 3.5.51 allows local users to record video by triggering AtBroadcastReceiver. The receiver accepts an unprotected broadcast and triggers a user binary without verifying that the caller holds the camera privilege. Exploitation requires local access to an affected Samsung mobile device, and the demonstrated consequence is unauthorized video recording.
