Arbitrary file disclosure via unchecked logfile path
Published Sep 5, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Path traversal in Systematica FIX Adapter (ALFAFX) 2.4.0.25 allows remote attackers to read arbitrary files through the logfile endpoint. The info logfile handler accepts the file parameter as an absolute Windows or UNC pathname instead of constraining it to the log directory. No authentication or user interaction is required; demonstrated outcomes include disclosure of server-readable local files and an outbound SMB file request.
