Arbitrary file upload via unchecked upload directory
Published Jan 27, 2023 · Updated Mar 28, 2025
Absolute path traversal in Italtel NetMatch-S CI 5.2.0-20211008 allows remote attackers to upload files to arbitrary server paths. The NMSCI-WebGui/SaveFileUploader endpoint accepts an uploadDir POST parameter and uses it without restricting the destination to an approved directory. No authentication or GUI access is required; a crafted request can place attacker-controlled files outside the intended upload area and expose server resources to unauthorized access.
