Remote code execution via SAT out-of-bounds write
Published Oct 11, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
A memory-management vulnerability in SAP 3D Visual Enterprise Author version 9 allows remote attackers to execute code via crafted SAT files. CoreCadTranslator.exe mishandles manipulated ACIS Part and Assembly data, permitting a stack-based overflow or dangling-pointer reuse that overwrites memory. Exploitation requires a victim to open the untrusted file; successful attacks execute arbitrary code in the application's process.
