Cross-site scripting via pre-decoding data URL check
Published Nov 13, 2022 · Updated Apr 15, 2025
Cross-site scripting in NukeViet CMS before 4.5 allows remote authenticated users to execute script in another user’s browser. The filterAttr method checks the encoded attrSubSet value for a data URL before decoding HTML entities, so an entity-encoded payload bypasses the intended filter. Exploitation requires a victim to render attacker-controlled content and permits script execution in that browser context.
