Unauthorized PHP inclusion via unchecked template path
Published Nov 13, 2022 · Updated Apr 15, 2025
Path traversal in Ultimate Member 2.5.0 and earlier allows attackers to include PHP files outside approved template directories. The load_template function appends the tpl value and a .php suffix to a template directory, then includes an existing path without verifying its resolved location. The request must reach a page that invokes the affected template handler, and the selected file must exist and be readable by the PHP process.
