Host data disclosure via SLIRP out-of-bounds read
Published Oct 18, 2022 · Updated Sep 23, 2024
Information disclosure in Oracle VM VirtualBox before 6.1.38 allows local users to read hypervisor-accessible data from a guest. The SLIRP sosendoob method fails to validate guest-supplied data before reading past the end of an allocated object. Exploitation requires high-privileged code execution in the guest and exposes sensitive data without modifying it or interrupting service.
