Out-of-bounds write in Oracle VM VirtualBox Core before 6.1.38 allows local users to execute code in the hypervisor context. PGMPhysRead fails to validate user-supplied data before processing it, permitting a write past the end of an allocated buffer. Exploitation requires high-privileged code execution in a guest and high complexity; success escapes that boundary and takes over the hypervisor.
