CVE-2022-3940

Authenticated file read via path traversal

Published Nov 11, 2022 · Updated Apr 15, 2025

Path traversal in lanyulei Ferry allows remote authenticated users on an adjacent network to read process-accessible local files. TaskDetails in apis/process/task.go rejects file_name only when it is empty or begins with a dot, slash, or backslash, then joins accepted input to script.path and passes it to os.ReadFile. A low-privilege request can therefore retrieve files readable by the Ferry process; no write or service-interruption impact is established.
