Service degradation via excessive witness items

Improper input validation in Lightning Labs LND before 0.15.4-beta allows remote attackers to stop chain processing via a crafted Bitcoin transaction. The embedded btcd wire.MsgTx.BtcDecode parser caps witness items at 500,000, rejecting a consensus-valid P2TR spend with 500,001 empty pushes. Once that transaction enters an observed block, chain synchronization stops while routing continues, exposing pending HTLCs and breach remedies to expiry-related fund loss.
