CVE-2022-39387Network attack vector

Unauthenticated OpenID login bypass via request-supplied provider

Published Nov 4, 2022 · Updated Apr 23, 2025

Improper authentication in XWiki Contrib OAuth2 and OpenID Connect before 1.29.1 allows remote attackers to bypass OpenID login. OIDCClientConfiguration gives request parameters precedence over trusted configuration, allowing oidc.endpoint.*, oidc.xwikiprovider, and oidc.groups.mapping values to control provider and group settings. No prior account or user interaction is required; a crafted provider authenticates remote attackers, while a crafted mapping adds their accounts to XWikiAdminGroup.
