A buffer overflow in Sysstat 9.1.16 through 12.7.0 allows local users to execute code via crafted activity data files. The allocate_structures function in sa_common.c multiplies activity-size fields without overflow checks before SREALLOC sizes the buffers, producing an undersized allocation on 32-bit systems. Exploitation requires a user to cause sysstat to display attacker-controlled activity data; successful exploitation can provide code execution, while the advisory does not establish a remote network path.
