Stored script execution via unescaped shortcode attributes
Published Dec 19, 2022 · Updated Apr 17, 2025
Stored cross-site scripting in NoorsPlugin Easy Video Player before 1.2.2.3 allows remote authenticated users to run script in a viewer's browser. The evp_embed_video_handler function inserts the evp_embed_video shortcode's url, class, width, poster, and video_id attributes into page output without sufficient sanitization or context-appropriate escaping. Contributor access is sufficient to save a crafted shortcode in a post, and the script executes when a user previews or views that content.
