CVE-2022-39352Network attack vector

Authorization bypass via wildcard tupleset evaluation

Published Nov 8, 2022 · Updated Apr 23, 2025

Authorization bypass in OpenFGA before 0.2.5 allows remote attackers to obtain access granted by mis-evaluated tuples via authorization requests. Tuple evaluation mishandles wildcard or userset tuples assigned to a tupleset relation on the right side of a from statement, treating unauthorized subjects as permitted. Exploitation requires an authorization model containing this relation and crafted tuples; impact is unauthorized access to data governed by affected checks.
