CVE-2022-39351

API key disclosure via authorization-failure logging

Published Oct 25, 2022 · Updated Apr 23, 2025

Sensitive-data logging in Dependency-Track before 4.6.0 allows local users with audit-log access to obtain valid API keys. AuthorizationFilter writes the complete X-Api-Key value when a valid key lacks permission for the requested API endpoint. Exploitation requires such a denied request and audit-log access; the exposed key retains the permissions originally assigned to it.
