CVE-2022-39331Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Notification content modification via QML rich-text rendering

Published Nov 25, 2022 · Updated Nov 3, 2025

Cross-site scripting in Nextcloud Desktop before 3.6.1 allows remote authenticated users to inject HTML into client notifications. The affected QML notification components let Qt auto-detect and render attacker-controlled strings as rich text instead of plain text. Exploitation requires low-privileged server access and a victim who views the crafted notification, and the demonstrated impact is modification of displayed content.
