Unauthenticated user enumeration via password-reset error
Published Nov 9, 2022 · Updated Jan 28, 2026
Information disclosure in Grafana before 8.5.15 and 9.0.0-beta1 through 9.2.3 allows remote attackers to enumerate users via password reset. The /api/user/password/sent-reset-email handler returns a distinct user not found JSON message when the submitted username or email is absent. Unauthenticated network access to the login page is sufficient, and the disclosed existence of accounts can support targeted credential attacks.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
