Victim-session actions via unescaped logged file value
Published Oct 7, 2022 · Updated Apr 22, 2025
Stored XSS in ZoneMinder before 1.36.27 and 1.37.0 through 1.37.23 allows remote authenticated users to run script in a log viewer. The log query handler returns the attacker-controlled File field after stripping tags only from Message, letting markup escape the table cells and enter the page. A user with View permission must first submit a database log entry, and a victim must open view=log; the script then acts with the victim's permissions.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
