CVE-2022-39284Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Cookie disclosure via ignored security flag defaults

Published Oct 6, 2022 · Updated Apr 22, 2025

Cookie flag omission in CodeIgniter 4 before 4.2.7 allows context-dependent attackers to read non-session cookies through scripts. set_cookie() and Response::setCookie() construct array-supplied cookies without applying the secure and httponly defaults configured in Config\Cookie. Exposure requires an application to rely on those global defaults for a non-session cookie and a script context capable of reading the resulting cookie.
