CVE-2022-39259Public exploit

Application hang via Swing HTML label rendering

Published Oct 21, 2022 · Updated Apr 22, 2025

Special-element injection in Skylot JADX before 1.4.5 allows attackers to hang jadx-gui by inducing a user to open a crafted ZIP file. A ZIP entry name beginning with an HTML frame sequence reaches a Swing label with HTML rendering enabled, causing HTMLEditorKit exceptions while the interface becomes stuck. Exploitation requires a user to open the attacker-supplied archive in the GUI; the documented effect is an application hang, not data access or modification.
